2025 Nissan Armada
For 2025, Nissan has completely redesigned its full-sized SUV, the Armada. This rebirth brings a more adventure-ready vehicle highlighted by the company's first-ever PRO-4X trim for the ultimate ruggedness. This three-row SUV has plenty to flaunt as it begins a fresh generation with a new twin-turbocharged V6, updated safety and infotainment technology, and a more rigid chassis that improves both on-road refinement and off-road prowess.
The most significant changes happened under the hood, where the aforementioned 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 replaces the outgoing V8 while increasing output to new heights of 425 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque (increases of 25 hp and 103 lb.-ft.). Nissan pairs this powerplant with a new nine-speed automatic transmission, an improvement over the last generation’s seven-speed tranny. The interior has been dramatically upgraded with dual 14.3-inch displays (available0 and Google built-in multimedia technology, while innovative features like biometric cooling and massaging front seats bring up the luxury factor considerably.
With a priority on capability and technology, the 2025 Armada maintains its mighty 8,500-pound towing capacity while adding features such as ProPILOT Assist 2.1 for hands-free highway driving, Invisible Hood View for off-road navigation, and a comprehensive suite of driver-assist technologies. The new PRO-4X trim draws trail drivers with its higher approach angle, all-terrain tires, protective underbody plates, and an electronic locking rear differential.
Trims and Powertrains
The 2025 Armada’s has quintet of trim levels consists of the SV, SL, PRO-4X, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve – all of which have the aforementioned twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 (output: 425 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque) paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on all trims except the 4WD-only PRO-4X (the four-wheel drivetrain is optional on the other trims). Also, look for a drive-mode selector with eight modes on the PRO-4X (Standard, Eco, Sport, Tow, Snow, Sand, Rock, Mud/Rut). All trims have Trailer Sway Control and an 8,500-pound towing capacity.
Standard Features
As the base trim, the SV gets the default eight-passenger configuration with power-adjustable front seats, a 40/20/40 split-folding second-row bench, and a three-person third-row bench, plus tri-zone automatic temperature control. This trim’s additional standard equipment includes remote start, running boards, roof rails, leatherette upholstery, automatic LED headlights, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, rain- and speed-sensing wipers (front and rear), a 12.3-inch driver information display, power side mirrors, a Class IV tow hitch receiver with pre-wiring, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 60/40 split-folding third-row bench seat, six USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The SL is upgraded with TailorFit premium leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a ten-way power driver's seat, a six-way power front passenger seat, a driver’s position memory system, LED fog lights, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, one-touch EZ FLEX (for convenient third-row access), wireless device charging, a power-folding third row, and 20-inch wheels. Buyers can opt for second-row captain's chairs to replace the bench seat (and limit passenger capacity to seven).
The PRO-4X gets the middle-row bench along with unique styling with Lava Red accents and black exterior elements, plus trail-ready toughness supplied by underbody skid plates, an adaptive electronic air suspension, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, higher approach angles thanks to a unique front bumper, and Lava Red tow hooks. It also gets trim-specific leather upholstery with quilted inserts and contrast stitching, heated power side mirrors (with power tilt and fold and auto-dimming), and a digital rearview mirror. A panoramic moonroof is optional.
The Platinum starts with the SL’s attributes and enriches the list with a panoramic moonroof, quilted leather upholstery, second-row captain's chairs (the second-row bench is optional), a motion-activated liftgate, 12-way power front seats with heating and cooling, heated second-row seats, a 14.3-inch driver information display, heated power side mirrors (power tilt and fold with auto-dimming), 64-color ambient cabin lighting, a digital rearview mirror, an in-car camera, and a dash cam. This trim’s most unique feature will be biometric cooling, where ceiling-mounted infrared sensors automatically adjust the cabin temperature for first- and second-row passengers. The top-of-the-line Platinum Reserve distinguishes itself with trim-specific interior appointments, like massaging front seats, body-color running boards (versus black on other trims), and unique 22-inch machined and painted alloy wheels. Seven-passenger seating is standard, with an option for a second-row bench seat (for a total capacity of eight passengers).
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
All 2025 Armadas are set up with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which consists of forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning and intervention, lane departure warning and intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and automatic high beams. Trailer blind-spot warning, which looks out for other vehicles alongside trailers up to 33 feet in length, is included across the trim range. The SL and higher also have a surround-view monitor with Invisible Hood View and Front Wide View modes (for easier low-speed maneuverability).
The base SV gets ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driver support, while the SL and higher trims are upgraded to ProPILOT Assist 1.1. ProPILOT Assist 2.1 enables hands-off single-lane freeway operation and is optional on the SL and both Platinum trims. A full set of airbags comes standard, along with anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and a rearview monitor. The PRO-4X increases its off-road capabilities with standard hill descent control.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The SV and SL are equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, while the higher trims upgrade to a 14.3-inch touchscreen. The SL and higher include access to NissanConnect services, navigation, and Google built-in (with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other apps). All trims include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth. There is a six-speaker audio system in the base trim, which is upgraded to a 12-speaker Klipsch arrangement in the others.
