Mechanical Details
The front-wheel-drive 2025 Kicks Play comes in just one trim, the S. It has a front-wheel drivetrain and a 122 horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Its fuel economy has been estimated by the EPA to reach 31 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the highway. The cargo area measures 25.3 cubic feet, which can be increased to 53.1 cubic by folding the rear seatback down when it’s not in use.
Standard Equipment
Since it’s intended to be a vehicle without a lot of frills, the Kicks Play S comes with halogen headlights, charcoal-colored cloth upholstery, a manually adjustable (six ways) driver’s seat, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, cruise control, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers. Occupants can plug in to three USB ports, and there’s also a 12-volt DC outlet. Nissan offers a few options, including deflectors for the side windows, a rear roof-mounted spoiler, a stainless-steel exhaust finisher, splash guards, floor mats, LED puddle lights that display the Nissan logo on the ground, and accessories for dogs (harnesses, ramp, and carrier). The Interior Electronics Package will add interior accent lighting, door pocket lighting, and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with a universal remote.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is a standard feature on the ’25 Kicks Play. It consists of automatic headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and rear parking sensors. Also standard are a rearview monitor, an array of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and hill hold control.
Infotainment and Connectivity
A 7-inch infotainment touchscreen is the centerpiece of the Kicks Play’s dash. It has all of the essentials, with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and Siri Eyes Free voice recognition. An unbranded sound system with six speakers is part of the system as well.
