Nissan has earned a reputation for producing some of the toughest pickup trucks on the market. However, the new 2018 Nissan Titan is more than just a powerful hauling and towing machine. Its burly exterior styling and spacious interior design promises to leave you impressed. Luxurious features, such as heated and ventilated seats, enable the top-of-the-line Platinum Reserve model to deliver an especially plush driving experience. If you need an even stronger workhorse, take a look at the heavy-duty Titan XD. Let's see how the 2018 Nissan Titan compares to the 2018 Nissan Titan XD.

Performance

Both of these pickup trucks deliver a powerful performance. Under the hood of the half-ton Titan sits a muscular 5.6-liter, Endurance V8 engine. Nissan tuned it to develop 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. When called upon, the Titan can confidently tows more than 9,700 pounds. You'll have no trouble pulling campers, fishing boats, and even horse trailers. Although the regular Titan will suit the needs of most drivers, the heavy-duty Titan XD is especially skilled at towing hefty loads. Although it comes standard with the same Endurance V8 engine, a turbocharged diesel engine is available as an option. It pushes out 310 horsepower and a monstrous 555 pound-feet of torque. The diesel-powered Titan XD's crushing amount of torque increases its towing capacity to a more formidable 12,640 pounds. Keep in mind that all versions of the Titan XD also boast a higher payload capacity.

Features

Whether you choose the 2018 Nissan Titan or the 2018 Nissan Titan XD, you'll have access to a long list of high-tech goodies. They come standard with a backup camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 5.0-inch infotainment screen. As you climb the available trim levels, you'll be rewarded with an even greater number of premium features. If you're a serious music fan, you'll love the 12-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system. An outstanding deep bass response and crystal-clear highs make it hard to resist. Featuring a total of four cameras, Nissan's birds-eye Around View Monitor takes the stress out of parking in congested areas. Meanwhile, kids can take full advantage of the available rear-seat entertainment system.

Appearance

At first glance, the Titan looks nearly identical to the Titan XD. These brawny pickup trucks share a lot of similar styling cues. You'll immediately notice their powerful grilles and uniquely designed headlamps. Available LED running lights further enhance the curb appeal of these trucks. Some of the eye-catching paint colors include SolarFlare Yellow, Cayenne Red, and Deep Blue Pearl. A two-tone paint job is available for the drivers who want to make an especially bold statement. If you really want to stand out from the crowd, check out Nissan's new Midnight Edition appearance package. It comes with an exclusive set of 20-inch black wheels and blacked-out exterior trim.

As you can see, both of these full-size Nissan pickups bring a lot to the table. To see which model fits you the best, contact your local Nissan dealer to schedule a test drive.
