2019 Nissan Murano

The 2019 Nissan Murano is a five-passenger SUV that is part of the third generation that was introduced in 2015. Changes for this year include a new front fascia that sports LED headlights. The LED taillights have also been redesigned. Inside, you will find more standard and optional equipment to include active and passive safety aids. If you opt for the Platinum trim, it features new diamond-quilted leather seats.

Performance

The Murano is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 hp that is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission(CVT). The CVT shifts smoothly and performs like a traditional transmission, which is not typical for most CVT's. The CVT in the Murano is the gold standard on how a CVT should perform. Front wheel drive is standard on the base model and four-wheel drive is available on all trims. The Murano gets 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway which is above average ratings for its class. The powertrain was designed with the perfect blend of power and efficiency. The suspension provides for a stable and comfortable ride with excellent handling.

Interior

The Murano has 2-rows of seats that can comfortably seat five adults. A standout feature is the zero gravity seats in the front row and outboard second row that are inspired by NASA. They provide excellent comfort by giving you a feeling of weightlessness. Both rows provide plenty of head and legroom. The Murano comes well equipped with standard equipment to include four USB ports, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, smartphone integration for Apple and Android, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with NissanConnect. The touchscreen is very responsive and has physical controls around the screen for easier operation when driving. Optional features include an 11-speaker Bose audio system, HD radio, voice recognition, satellite radio, and a revised GPS navigation system that can connect with your smartphone to provide walking directions after you leave your vehicle.

Safety

The new Murano was built with safety in mind and includes the following standard safety features: A driver drowsiness monitor system, a rear-seat reminder system, a backup camera, forward collision alert, and automatic emergency braking. Optional safety aids include LED fog lights, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, pedestrian detection, automatic high-beams, rear automatic braking, and lane departure alert. The federal National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) rated the Murano four out of five stars during the rollover crash test.
